New Peugeot Expert prices and specification announced

Peugeot Expert Van The new Peugeot Expert will go on sale in the UK on the 15th February 2007 with a starting price of only £13,670 (ex VAT).

The new Expert range will see the introduction of 18 new models compared to the current range, further expanding Peugeot’s LCV offer. The new range will now consist of 10 panel vans and, for the first time in the UK, eight window vans and two floor cabs, aimed at vehicle converters. Powered by three state of the art HDi diesel engines, the new range also includes for the first time on a Peugeot LCV the fitment of a diesel particulate filter system (DPFS), to keep exhaust emissions to a minimum.

The new range will take the new model identification system first introduced on the new Boxer, where the wheelbase length will be denoted “L...” i.e. L1 = SWB and L2 = LWB. Supporting this the roof height options will be designated as “H...” .

i.e. H1 = standard roof height and H2 = high roof height.

The new Expert range also sees the introduction of a long wheelbase and long wheelbase high roof version of both the panel van and window van versions. This new model has a load length of 2586 mm and can accommodate a load volume of 7 m3. This gives the new Expert a greater load length than the Ford Transit Connect LWB model and a greater load volume than both the Ford and Mercedes-Benz Vito LWB models.

The increased size of the new Expert, however, does not incur higher operating costs as the new Expert is more fuel efficient, has lower insurance group ratings and maintenance intervals have been increased to two years and 20,000 miles for all models, reducing vehicle down time.

Standard specification includes: ABS with emergency brake assist, height adjustable pre-tensioning seatbelts with load limiters, driver’s ladder frame protector, automatic fuel cut off and door unlocking in the event of an accident, transponder immobiliser, deadlocks, automatic door locking, 180 degree opening rear doors, height and reach adjustable steering column, power steering, electric front windows, tinted glass, radio / CD player, oil level indicator, next service indicator, numerous storage areas, rear load area light, twin sliding side doors, full size spare wheel etc…

A comprehensive list of options will also be available, such as automatic headlights and wipers, fog lights, air-conditioning, rear tailgate, ESP inc ASR (traction control), passenger airbag, side airbags, speed limiter – cruise control, rear parking aid, satellite navigation, hands free Bluetooth phone kit, electric mirrors, pneumatic rear suspension, full colour coding of the exterior, Thatcham class 1 alarm….

With an increase in load space, ability to carry heavier loads, a new window van range and state of the art Euro IV HDi diesel engines, which are more fuel efficient and produce fewer emissions; the new model range will strengthen further Peugeot’s UK LCV sales position and ensure PSA Peugeot Citroën remains the No1 supplier of LCV vehicles in Europe, a position the Group has held since 1997, when it overtook Ford.

The new Peugeot Expert will be available in 10 exterior colours, all matched to a Narbonnais Grey cloth interior.

The New Peugeot Expert goes on sale in the UK on the 15th February 2007.
