3 Autumn Winter Trends to Invest in Now

2nd September 2018 Print

Even though we’re still currently enjoying the Summer, Autumn is just around the corner and so are the new A/W trends. It’s never too early to start thinking about what you might buy, as the high street stores have already started showcasing what’s on offer. You don’t always have to invest too much into a trend, especially if it’s something you wouldn’t normally go for. Try choosing some pieces that you can wear with items already in your wardrobe as this will help you make the most of what you currently have. It’s an easy way to update your outfits for A/W without spending too much.

Printed Dresses

This is an easy trend to invest in as it’s so easy to incorporate into your current wardrobe. This trend isn’t your usual spring offering (pretty and pastel), this time it’s the bolder prints coming through. With black-backed patterns and darker hues to help make this trend more suitable for A/W. Dresses, like these ones from Bonmarche, are a great way to wear the trend, as they’re easy to style and can be dressed up or down with a cosy scarf or great scarf. As the print is darker, it’s easier to transition this look into your workwear wardrobe too, so it’s a nice way to update your standard office looks!

Leopard print

One of the biggest trends for this AW is leopard print. Although you might be slightly sceptical when it comes to wearing this print, it’s one that can work for all ages and environments. Don’t let the bold and bright versions of this print put you off trying it, instead opting for subtle shades of brown and beige, and softer prints, will help you wear this trend with confidence. Try adding it into your wardrobe with a muted leopard print blouse, which can be easily paired with a pair of jeans or smart trousers for work. Another way to wear the trend is to look for accessories such as a printed scarf or belt, which can be added to a plain outfit to help make it more special. If you’re feeling a little more daring, this trend is seeing some colourful combinations of print. So look into some more colourful pieces that can bring some life to your wardrobe and have some fun with the trend this coming season.

Statement Scarves

Although scarves are required every year when the temperatures drop, this year the trend interprets them to become real statement pieces. Perfect for layering up and keeping warm, but also for making a style statement this winter. It’s not just lightweight fashion scarves making a comeback, chunky wool ones are also on the style agenda. If you want to really brighten up your outfits, then choose one in a bright colour or pattern. These are a great way to buy into a trend without investing too much money since they can easily be worn with items you already have. If you’re not sure on bold colours, then a pattern or print can work well even if you stick with neutral colours. If you want to add a more glamourous touch to your scarves, then look for one with an embellished detailing or even a faux-fur, adding a touch of glamour to your daily accessories.
