City Link contract strenghens Renault Trucks’ presence at Fraikin Leading commercial vehicle fleet services provider, Fraikin, is taking delivery of 30 new Euro-5 Renault Premium Privilege trucks, through Renault Trucks Midlands. The Premium Privilege 4x2 410.18s have been supplied on full service contract hire to national next-day express parcels carrier, City Link. The Premiums will pull Gray & Adams 13.6m dry freight double deck trailers on overnight trunking routes between City Link’s operating hubs and depots nationwide.

George Noble, Purchasing and Technical Director, Fraikin, says: “City Link has increased the number of Renaults in its fleet from five in 2003 to over 100 today. We worked closely with both the customer and Renault Trucks to ensure the vehicles matched City Link’s exacting specifications.”

Mo Kafu, Operations Director, City Link adds: “Driver acceptance is always a key factor and from our latest survey it is clear that our drivers love the Renault. The performance of the Renault products over the past five years had a great influence on our decision.”

This latest delivery joins over 400 tractor units and trailers supplied by Fraikin on contract hire to City Link, further extending a relationship which began in 1997.

City Link has been at the heart of the UK’s express next-day delivery service industry since 1969 and currently operates a national network through 100 depots, guaranteeing next-day delivery to all of the UK, plus a range of International services. The company is part of Rentokil Initial, one of the largest business service companies in the world.
