A new record: 300 vehicles manufactured in a single day

A new record: 300 vehicles manufactured in a single day For the first time, in February, Renault Trucks’ plants crossed the symbolic threshold of producing 300 vehicles in a single day.

To meet increasingly high demand, predominantly fuelled by growth in Eastern European countries, Renault Trucks has significantly increased its plants' rate of production by bringing in weekend shifts. This has allowed the number of vehicles produced per day to rise from an average of 225 to 276, reaching a peak of 300 vehicles in February.

Looking ahead, the investments of around €57 million made in 2008 at the Blainville sur Orne plant alone, which assembles all Renault cabs and the Renault Midlum distribution range vehicles, will allow even higher records to be set.

To keep pace with this much higher rate of production, Renault Trucks has been carrying out an extensive recruitment plan which, by the end of 2008, will have seen 3,000 new staff recruited into production positions over the last 3 years.
