First Renault for JH Rose & Sons

25th March 2008 Print
First Renault for JH Rose & Sons Dorset based bulk haulage contractor, JH Rose & Sons Ltd., has taken delivery of a 6x4 Renault Premium Lander 370.26, through Renault Trucks Southampton. It is the first Renault to join the company’s fleet, which is currently made up of Volvo, DAF and ERF.

The vehicle has an insulated alloy tipper body and will be used to transport sand and gravel to trade and private customers across the UK, predominately in the South West of England. As the company is a Hanson franchise, the new Renault Premium Lander has been given its distinctive livery.

The increased payload of the Renault Lander was cited as a key purchase decision by Chris Rose, Director & Fleet Engineer, JH Rose & Sons: “We had heard good reports on the Renault Lander and were impressed by the build quality and low weight of the truck. It is a much lighter vehicle than the Volvo, for example, and so will increase our fuel efficiency. We have also built up a good relationship with Renault Trucks Southampton, who has put together an excellent package for us.”

JH Rose & Sons was established in 1889, originally as coal merchants. It is a family firm, owned and operated by the fourth generation. The company’s main enterprise is bulk haulage, however it also supplies sand and gravel to trade and DIY companies and transports bulk animal feed. JH Rose & Sons also offers crane-assisted haulage of large items, as well as commercial vehicle repairs from its modern purpose built workshop in Gillingham, Dorset.
