Renault Magnums for Mark Doel Transport

13th May 2009 Print
Renault Magnum Cambridge based, specialist road haulage company, Mark Doel Transport, has taken delivery of two Renault Magnum 500.25 tractor units, through Renault Trucks distributor, WTL Truck and Van Centres. In an important conquest deal, they are the first Renaults to join the company’s 13-strong mixed fleet and will replace Mercedes and MAN. Both Renault Magnums have Optidriver gearboxes. They will undertake long haul distribution of bulk plastic and powders nationwide.

Mark Doel, Owner, Mark Doel Transport, cites driver comfort as a key purchase factor: “I was extremely impressed with the performance of the new Renault Magnum, it handles well and is comfortable to drive. I was particularly impressed with the Optidriver gearbox - I have only bought automatic trucks in the past but found this very easy to use. Cab comfort was also a key consideration for us as our drivers are out all week and so need a large cab, where they can feel comfortable to cook, eat, sleep and relax. The Magnum cab easily fits these criteria and more. We have also found that the Magnum’s AdBlue consumption has been very economical which is so far providing fuel savings for the company as well.”

Mark Doel Transport is a family business, established in 1986 by Mark Doel. Based in Cambridge, the company has expanded from one unit and trailer to a fleet of 13 units and trailers working for a varied range of companies. The company’s centre includes an on-site maintenance workshop and garage with fully qualified maintenance staff.
