Tracker recovers a stolen vehicle in 11 minutes

9th May 2007 Print
TRACKER has made a record-breaking recovery – activating, alerting the police, tracking and finding the stolen vehicle – all within 11 minutes.

The BMW was stolen from its owner Kin Chu’s driveway in Manchester. Mr Chu, who was at home at the time of the theft, discovered the thieves had taken his keys via an open window before stealing the car.

Immediately alerting the police and TRACKER, Mr Chu gave the thieves minimal getaway time and the car was tracked and recovered a little over ten minutes later.

Mr Chu, aged 46, said: “I have had to change all the locks on my house and car but I am extremely relieved to have my vehicle returned so promptly – it’s one less thing to fret about after being burgled.”

The previous quickest recovery, set just 18 months ago, was a VW Golf in Birmingham found in just 21 minutes.

Nearly 80 per cent of all TRACKER vehicle recoveries – almost £350 million worth to date – are now made after key thefts.

Parita Patel, Marketing Manager for TRACKER UK, said: “As the UK’s leading stolen vehicle recovery system operator, we are always thrilled to recover a vehicle, but in record time like this it is especially pleasing.”
