‘Motorsport to Defence’ – Motorsport musters its troops!

The MIA’s ‘Motorsport to Defence’ programme continues apace, following a revealing visit to BAE Leicester last month.

Said the MIA’s Chairman Peter Digby, “We are determined to capitalise on Lord Drayson’s (Minister for Defence Procurement) challenge to successfully harness the technologies of motorsport and defence to the benefit of national security.

“The defence sector needs rapidly delivered innovative engineering solutions. These are also prime requirements of top class motorsport and there is no doubt we can bring our expertise to bear in these troubled times. However, it is a two-way street, and I believe there is much we in motorsport can learn from the defence industry. Interesting times lie ahead.”
