Motorsport industry mourns the death of Phillip Carter

The motorsport world lost a fine businessman and good friend when Phillip Carter’s life was cut short by a helicopter accident on April 30.

With his wife Judith, Phillip founded the internationally renowned training and education provider of Carter & Carter Group plc. Last year Carter & Carter teamed up with the MIA to create the Motorsport Academy – a body that, with support from MDUK, has already assisted countless companies and individuals within the motorsport sector and is rapidly helping to ensure the UK’s motorsport industry retains it pre-eminence on the world stage. Carter & Carter has also backed a number of recent MIA events and initiatives, including last month’s very successful ‘Evening with Ross Brawn’ and the upcoming Media Trade Day at Rockingham on June 5.

Said the MIA’s CEO Chris Aylett, “We were stunned by news of the accident that not only took Phillip’s life, but that of his teenage son too. Our thoughts are with his wife and daughter at this very sad time.”
