Make Dad a safer driver – give him a drivecheck for Father’s Day

22nd May 2007 Print
This Father’s Day (Sunday 17 June) give Dad something to help in his role as family chauffeur – a DriveCheck voucher from the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).

Whether he’s a first-time daddy nervously driving his newborn around, an experienced father turning out at 11pm to collect his daughter from a party, or a dad who wonders where the years went as he teaches his kids to drive, an IAM DriveCheck can help.

The IAM's short assessment can reassure him of his skills, or put him on the road to brushing them up and becoming a safer, more fuel-efficient driver. And if he prefers two wheels to four, he can take an IAM RideCheck instead.

DriveCheck and RideCheck are a vailable from iam.org.uk at the special introductory price of £25.

Money – and time – well spent

Once somebody has completed their DriveCheck or RideCheck assessment, they become an Associate of the IAM for 12 months, with access to a wide range of benefits all carefully chosen to help them get more from their driving or motorcycling.

These include discounts on breakdown assistance, windscreen replacement, tyres, exhausts and brakes, car hire, hotels, airport parking, financial services, books, road atlases and maps. They can also enjoy IAM Activity Days; a great opportunity to learn new techniques on and off-road.

And, if they wish, they can go on to take an IAM Skill for Life course, which gives them time with their local IAM group and leads to the Advanced Driving/Motorcycling Test and full membership of the IAM, and even greater benefits, enjoyment and safety.
