Historic Isle of Man TT

31st May 2007 Print
Motorcycle aficionados know that the Isle of Man TT races celebrate their centenary this year. There will, however, be another historic event. For the first time in 100 years, the exhilaration of the two-week motorcycle festival will be covered in an officially sanctioned review book – to be called The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007.

Published in association with the Isle of Man Department of Tourism & Leisure and edited by expert journalist Gary Pinchin of Motor Cycle News, The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007 will be available literally weeks after the last race. This remarkably speedy turnaround time is only possible because Haynes, who will publish the book, have full on-site editorial, design, production and printing facilities. Best known for its world-leading car and motorcycle manuals, among many other titles, Haynes publishes official reviews for MotoGP, British Superbikes and F1.

The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007 will be a high-quality, large-format book with more than 250 colour illustrations provided by leading photographers such as Stephen Davison, Double Red and Mac McDiarmid.

Carol Phillips, Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Department of Tourism & Leisure, says: "The TT is one of the most prestigious and exciting motorcycle events in the world and more 60,000 visitors will descend on the island during the two-week festival. We are pleased to support Haynes in producing an equally prestigious record of our centenary event."

The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007 will include race-by-race reports and full practice session and race statistics. There will be full coverage of the events during the two weeks including the TT Lap of Honour, the Centenary Parade and the Parade of Champions. With superb writing allied to brilliant photography, readers will savour the glamour and thrills of this unique event at the world's premier motorcycle road racing venue.

Additionally, The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007 will include interviews with legendary TT racers as well as highlights from the 100-year history. Readers will be taken behind the scenes too – with articles about the marshals, emergency service personnel and the many hundreds of people involved in the TT.

J Haynes, Managing Director of Haynes Publishing Group, says: "We are extremely proud to be entrusted by the Isle of Man government with publishing The Official Isle of Man TT Review 2007. This book will stand alongside the other high-quality motor sport reviews published by Haynes."
