moneysupermarket.com: Scottish Power's new Energy Price Fall product
Commenting on Scottish Power's new Energy Price Fall product, Paul Schofield, head of utilities at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Wholesale gas prices have dropped a staggering 50 per cent since 2006 and other providers have passed this saving on by reducing standard tariffs by around 15 per cent for gas and six per cent for electricity."Why is Scottish Power launching yet another product and ignoring the fact thousands of its customers are still paying over-the-odds on the standard tariff? I urge all gas providers to offer the best value for all customers and to reward loyalty. It is time Scottish Power adjusted its standard tariff in line with other competitive tariffs on the market.
"In the meantime, existing standard tariff customers who want to stay with Scottish Power should consider swapping to the new Energy Price Fall product, or the Online Energy 3 product, where savings can be made.”
moneysupermarket.com is making a stand to help people ditch their expensive power companies and get the cheapest energy deal by offering £30 cash-back to all customers swapping to a dual fuel tariff through its service. Those not going for a dual fuel tariff but changing a provider or tariff will benefit from a single £17.50 payment.
