moneysupermarket.com: Scottish and Southern Energy's profits
Commenting on Scottish and Southern Energy’s (SSE) profits, Paul Schofield, head of utilities at moneysupermarket.com, said: “News that SSE’s profits are up 23 per cent to over £1 billion and it has a million more customers is testimony to the loyalty it has shown householders.“Having made price cuts in March, SSE is competitively positioned for standard and online dual fuel tariffs as well as its green tariff.
“Its move to introduce energy efficiency credits of around £100 to encourage customers to buy loft insulation or low-energy appliances is welcome. While any action to encourage households to cut gas and electricity consumption is commendable, customers should still shop around to make sure they are on the best deal for their needs.”
