PSA Peugeot Citroen main sponsor for Coventry’s 10th Godiva Festival
PSA Peugeot Citroen, which has been associated with the Godiva Festival since its inception, is to be the main sponsor for this year’s 10th anniversary event on 13-15 July. The Group is also supporting the environmental theme of the Godiva festival with sponsorship of the Greenspace dome, which is dedicated to ecologically and environmentally friendly initiatives. Last year, the Group was Europe’s leader in low emissions vehicles, with Peugeot and Citroen cars accounting for 38% of European sales of vehicles emitting less than 120 g/km CO2.
The Group will be displaying a state-of-the-art hybrid diesel vehicle; a Citroen Berlingo Multispace known as Efficient-C, which achieves fuel economy of 75 mpg and emits less that 100 g/km CO2 – a 30% improvement over the standard diesel model. The display will also include a Peugeot 107, one of the country’s cleanest traditionally powered cars with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Local Peugeot and Citroen dealers will also display a range of low CO2 vehicles during the show.
For younger and more carefree visitors, PSA Peugeot Citroen is delighted to bring its hugely successful Peugeot 207 Driving School ride from Alton Towers. The attraction, which gives children experience of driving electrically powered replica vehicles, also underpins the eco-friendly driving theme. All proceeds from the ride will be donated to the Myton Hospice, a local cancer charity with which the Group has had a long association.
PSA Peugeot Citroen employs 1,000 people in the Coventry area and is demonstrating its commitment to the future of the city with the construction of a new £25 million headquarters and a state-of-the-art technical centre at Stoke Aldermoor. The Group has also recently opened the country’s largest Citroen Dealership at Fletchampstead Highway, Canley.
