Commenting on Scottish & Southern Energy's new Price Fix 2008 product, Scott Byrom, utilities expert at moneysupermarket.com, said: "This aggressive move from Scottish & Southern was well overdue, but it hasn’t disappointed. With British Gas's Click Energy products leading the energy market for much of 2007, it is good to see Scottish & Southern’s Price Fix 2008 undercutting them in many regions.

"Price Fix 2008 is a fixed product so customers won't see an increase in their energy rates before November 2008 and there are no early termination fees, so should a cheaper product become available you can easily change over. So if Powergen, npower or any of the other providers undercut Scottish & Southern, we would advise you to move again.

"This online only product, available through Scottish & Southern’s SWALEC, Scottish Hydro and Southern Electric brands, is open to new and existing customers."
