moneysupermarket.com: Energy market inquiry
Commenting on the Commons Select Committee’s energy market inquiry, Scott Byrom, utilities manager at price comparison site moneysupermarket.com, said: “Instead of the Commons Select Committee wasting taxpayers’ money on an investigation into the justification for energy bills of over £1,000, the Government should actively promote the massive savings that people can make.“Sixty-three per cent of Brits are still on a Standard tariff – and therefore paying about £300 more per year than they would on the cheapest tariffs. If politicians publicised this fact, they would be doing their constituents a major service.
“Over half of the UK population is oblivious to the huge savings out there, so politicians should act, rather than blowing more hot air into the atmosphere.”
