moneysupermarket.com: launch of npower SOL 11
Commenting on the launch of npower SOL 11, Paul Schofield, head of utilities at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Despite a 10.4 per cent hike to its market leading SOL 10 offering (15.4 for electricity and six per cent for gas), Npower SOL 11 is the cheapest tariff for the majority of consumers. However, it isn't the best tariff for everyone. For customers in npower's core regions - Midlands and Yorkshire, rivals E.ON and British Gas lead the way. With this in mind I urge people to actively seek the best possible deal for their region and level of consumption."Online tariffs continue to offer the best prices but customers may now want to look for reassurance in "fixed" tariffs to avoid any further price hikes. However this comes at a cost with annual bills averaging £200 more than cheaper alternatives. However, if prices continue to rise, those who gamble to "fix" now may be quids in later."
