ASDA: Latest gas price rise

31st July 2008 Print
Following the announcement by British Gas that customers are set to face a 35% rise in gas prices, ASDA Financial Services is urging the public to shop around for the best possible deal and choice of energy supplier. 70% of customers who switched gas and electricity in the last quarter with ASDA saved an average of £70.12, whilst the highest saving was a staggering £2,407.62.

Gideon Ingham, ASDA's Head of Insurance comments: "The latest price hike by British Gas means many will struggle to meet rising energy costs this winter. Since so many customers are stuck on tariffs that are wholly inappropriate for the amount of energy they consume, we're calling on them to shop around for the best possible deal. At ASDA we offer our customers a gas and electricity switching service which could save them hundreds of pounds".
