uSwitch.com: BizzEnergy going into administration

3rd November 2008 Print
Tim Wolfenden, Head of Business Services at uSwitch.com, comments on the effects of small business energy provider BizzEnergy going into administration: "It's very disappointing to see another small business energy provider, BizzEnergy, going out of business as this type of company is crucial in driving competition in the small and medium enterprise (SME) market place. The news mirrors last week's announcement that E4B was going into administration and will be another blow to small business owners who need every help in driving down costs as we head into recession.

"None of BizzEnergy's 40,000 SME customers will be cut off as they will be transferred to British Gas. They will be keeping their existing energy contract terms so will be protected in the short term. But they should still note when their contract is up for renewal and shop around before that date to take advantage of the strong deals to be had in the market place.

"In today's economic climate we strongly advise all SMEs to shop around as no business can afford to be on less attractive rates and therefore paying more for their energy than competitors."
