Ebico helps energy customers with cuts in energy prices

3rd March 2009 Print
Ebico, the UK’s only not-for-profit electricity and gas supplier, has announced that it is cutting its’ electricity bills by 9%, and gas bills by 2.5%.

As one of the UK’s ‘little eight’ independent energy suppliers, Ebico has cut its gas and electricity rates in its efforts to provide British households with fairly priced energy, and help those who are threatened with fuel poverty.

Phil Levermore, Managing Director of Ebico says, ‘We are pleased to announce that, unlike a number of the other supply companies, Ebico will be cutting the rates that apply to both our electricity and gas supplies. EquiPower will be reduced by an average of 9% whilst EquiGas customers will see bills decline by 2.5% on average. This will save the average Ebico customer 5.5% (or £65) per year.”

‘We are acutely aware that the exceptionally cold winter has put extra pressure on those who are already struggling to pay their fuel bills. So, in addition to lowering our prices, we have launched the Fuel Poverty Challenge which aims to reduce the fuel bills of low income households by £1,000,000.’

For everyone who pledges to take the Ebico Fuel Poverty Challenge and commits to save 10% of the energy they use by being more energy efficient, we’ll pledge to spend at least £200 to cut the fuel bills of a low income household by providing energy efficiency measures, that will offer immediate and continuous savings.
