New tariff from British Gas

13th August 2009 Print
Gareth Kloet, Head of Utilities at Confused.com says, "After weeks of jostling for the best online tariff, British Gas has now stirred up the offline tariff market with the launch of its new Track and Save 2011. Aimed at those who buy from door-to-door salesmen, whilst it is competitive, it isn't as good value as its online equivalent (Websaver 3) which is £66 cheaper per year. And it's a massive £103 a year more expensive than the best online tariff currently available in the market.

"Our message to customers is that the best savings that can still be made by switching to an online tariff, having searched the entire market via an accredited comparison site. Accredited sites will show all the online and offline tariffs available, making a comparison between the various options very easy.

"For those that don't want an online tariff, we'd still encourage them to check all the options available so that they can pick the most competitive tariff for their specific needs."
