Flaming June for Lex

6th July 2007 Print
Flaming June for Lex Lex enjoyed one of their most successful months on record with BCA in June.

With 65 sales staged in the month, the company sold nearly 4,000 vehicles at eight locations in BCA’s network.

Despite rising volumes in the marketplace, Lex held three additional special themed sales with BCA in recent weeks and reaped some impressive rewards by delivering good quality, sensibly valued product to the marketplace.

The Blackbushe Convertible sale on 12 June attracted hundreds of buyers to bid on 230 cars from Lex. A total of 217 were sold, equivalent to a 95% conversion and a £3 million plus turnover that averaged 100.6% of CAP Clean. Top price went to a 0555 Mercedes SL 350 convertible that realised £41,750.

Meanwhile, the Measham SeLEXtion event on 29 June offered nearly 200 cars to a crowd of 144 registered buyers. Competitive bidding for the specially selected stock resulted in another 95% conversion.

Finally, staff at Walsall brought a hint of summer to its customers with the special Lex on the Beach sale. With the auction hall dressed with sand and swaying palm trees, 110 registered buyers escaped the wettest summer on record to bid on 204 cars. The 90% conversion achieved 100% of CAP Clean.

The full sales programme for Lex in the month included a huge choice of makes and models from superminis to prestige cars at a wide range of age and mileage combinations. Commercial vehicles also figured strongly. Sales took place nationwide at Blackbushe, Belle Vue, Brighouse, Measham, Bedford, Walsall, Derby and Glasgow.

BCA’s National Account Manager Simon Young commented “We have seen changes in demand patterns over recent weeks and we have worked in partnership with Lex to deliver a varied and interesting sales programme that keeps our buyer customers engaged. Themed events and special sections can deliver great results for vendors when marketed and promoted professionally to known buyers.”

Lex’s National Remarketing Manager Ken Boothe added “BCA are always willing to throw fresh remarketing ideas into the mix. Creative thinking and an innovative approach make all the difference when a remarketing partnership has to handle such large volumes of vehicles.”
