Kids hail success of Legoland trip LTI Vehicles, makers of the famous London taxis, donated £1,500 to help give 200 underprivileged youngsters a day out at a world-famous theme park.

Big-hearted taxi drivers gave up their time to man a convoy of 100 specially-decorated London taxis which picked up the youngsters from Earls Court, in London, to take them to Legoland at Windsor.

Richard Daniels, Government Affairs Manager with Coventry-based LTI Vehicles, was there to see them off and hand over a cheque for £1,500 to cover the cost of fuel for the drivers who decorated their taxis with balloons, flags and all manner of colourful additions.

The trip was organised by the London Taxi Drivers’ Fund for Underprivileged Children, which is set to take a host of youngsters on another outing next month, to Southend on Sea.

Richard Daniels, Government Affairs Manager with LTI Vehicles, said: “It was fantastic to see all the decorated cabs setting off in procession from Earls Court. It really brightened up a gloomy day.

“The young people were really excited and all reports suggest they had a fantastic time.

“The LTFUC which organises this and all the drivers who donate their time and energy should be applauded. LTI Vehicles is only too happy to support their work in any way we can and we were delighted to be able to contribute in a small way to giving these young people a day to remember.”
