TalkTalk to offer free local calls anytime

1st May 2009 Print
Michael Phillips, product director at HomePhoneChoices.co.uk said: "TalkTalk's latest deal is a great offer and should provide a meaningful cost reduction for customers, however we hope this is a long term change in policy rather than just a short term marketing ploy. This offer is clearly targeted at incentivising customers to switch from BT, so we hope they have the necessary support staff in place to cope with any surge in demand.

"Consumers need to look beyond the headline offers as there is no point in adopting a service that doesn't suit one's individual needs. Furthermore, there are always other costs to consider - both TalkTalk and BT recently increased their line rental charges to £11.25 a month; Madasafish for example charges £9.75. Consumers should always compare services when thinking about switching. Both YourCalls and Euphony offer comparable services with cheaper minimum call charges and non-inclusive call rates."
