Caravans in danger this winter – wrap it up

1st November 2005 Print
Caravans in danger this winter – wrap it up According to the police around 4,000 caravans are stolen each year – that’s 25% of the number of new caravans sold annually in the UK. Burglary from caravans and vandalism are very common too. And if the criminals don’t bring problems to caravan owners then the British weather will: meteorologists are forecasting that we are in for one of the most severe winters for 50 years.

Now a new caravan storage kit has arrived in the UK which will both help owners to prevent crime and protect their caravans from weather damage. The heavy duty, soft, non-scratch material allows moisture to escape, at the same time sealing out rain water, thanks to its strong, lightweight Tybond fabric that provides a triple layer of Aeror-micropore over the roof area with added padding on the roof corners.

It ensures a dry, dust free and clean caravan, plus paintwork that looks excellent for years – with none of the hard scrubbing to remove heavy stains caused by the result of long winter exposure. Upholstery and woodwork are protected by the breathable fabric that allows unwanted condensation to evaporate while paintwork and furniture are also protected from sun damage.

It’s ideal for added security for winter storage and the kit has a removable side panel for owner access. Fitting is simple, with elasticised hems and added eyelets and hooks for long term storage.

Mark Cornwall of mail order specialist Car Parts Direct said, "One of our best selling products is our fully waterproof Tybond car cover. Following lots of requests from caravan owners we can now offer them the same level of protection too. It couldn’t have arrived at a better time with the severe predicted winter on its way."

The kit is supplied in various sizes from 4.6 metres up to 6.7metres in length. A full technical specification image is shown on the supplier’s website. All sizes are priced at £199 including vat and free delivery. For more information or to order visit carparts-direct.co.uk
