Ultimate stopping power for the Connaught Syracuse

3rd August 2007 Print
Connaught Syracuse Type-D GT AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance brake and clutch systems for road and race cars, has been chosen by the recently revived Connaught Motor Company to supply the British sportscar maker with an advanced braking system for its newly developed supercar.

A Connaught designed and developed V10 2-litre supercharged engine, producing 300bhp, will propel the Syracuse Type-D GT to 60mph in less than 5 seconds and on to a top speed of 170mph. The Connaught engineers approached AP Racing to design a bespoke braking system capable of dealing with this level of performance.

AP Racing will supply the complete braking system to the, soon to be launched, limited edition 4-seater Syracuse, including front and rear four piston calipers and 330mm cross drilled brake discs all round.

Norman Barker, Director of Sales, explains "AP Racing has extensive experience with specialist vehicle manufacturers and producing bespoke braking systems for both road and race cars. The Connaught marque, like AP Racing, has a strong motorsport heritage and, as a result, we are extremely pleased to be involved with the exciting Syracuse project."
