H&H to auction another rare Vincent Black Prince

Liverpool Lil
The 1954 Rapide is technically a ‘shed’ rather than ‘barn find’ but, though partly dismantled and in need of total restoration, it is only missing one minor part and presents an increasingly rare opportunity to purchase a totally unmolested and highly desirable classic.
It has spent its entire life in Liverpool and only ever had two owners. For many years it powered a sidecar in order to provide transport for an entire family - £12,000-15,000.
Hankering after a Humber?
Humbers totally dominated the Junior TT of 1911, finishing 1st, 4th, 8th, 14th and 18th out of 34 starters. The immaculate example of the same year being offered at Duxford is the 340cc side-valve V-Twin version with belt drive.
Only ever owned by one family, it was fully restored just last year. Finished in black, it would make a wonderful addition to any collection and is, of course, fully-eligible for the annual Pioneer Run - £13,000-15,000.
Sidecar reunited
No not a new website, but the story of how the owner of the 1934 BSA G34 went in search of a sidecar for it and tumbled across the exact one it had been equipped with when new, complete with numbers to prove the fact. This reminder of a bygone age is estimated to fetch £7,000-8,000.
Other consignments or likely offerings for the Duxford sale include: a totally restored BSA Gold Star DBD 34; a 1957 Douglas Dragonfly; a Calthorpe recently unearthed from a coal-shed, plus an Egli Vincent, Rudge Ulster, Indian, Zundapp and Velocette Thruxton.
Bicycle bonanza
H&H have been achieving fine prices for collectors’ bicycles this year and among the many already entered for Duxford are: the only known surviving Surrey Machinist Co. Invincible Ordinary from 1880 (£3,500-4,000); a circa 1887 Coventry Front Driving Tricycle (£9,000-10,000) and an 1882 Butler Omnicycle that has remained in its present ownership for 45 years and is estimated to fetch £18,000-22,000!
Over the 9th/10th of October H&H will also be auctioning, motobilia, automobilia and classic cars at the same venue. For further information on these and all other H&H sales, visit classic-auctions.com.
