Web gurus confirmed for auto retail Internet conference
EurotaxGlass’s has announced details of its forthcoming conference, ‘The Internet – gaining the competitive advantage’, which aims to give automotive retailers a competitive edge in the fast-developing world of digital marketing. The one-day event, to be held on 8 November 2007 at the NEC in Birmingham, will feature presentations from the world’s biggest new media organisations, including Google, eBay and Yahoo!, and some of the leading names in the automotive industry, such as GM Europe, Trader Media Group and Fish4Cars.
The speakers will give the audience their views on current and future online trends, allowing delegates to make the most of their Web presence in order to stay ahead of their competitors, increase revenues, and maximise profitability.
Covering a range of topics, speeches will help dealers understand how to present the key information that prospective car buyers look for online, and ways in which search engine optimisation can assist in reaching the widest possible audience. There will also be a panel discussion and an examination of auto retailers’ successful digital marketing strategies.
Breaking away from the traditional conference format where delegates simply sit and listen to speeches, EurotaxGlass’s will encourage delegates to participate in the sessions. There will be interaction between the speakers and the audience via electronic handsets and a live SMS text feed, and delegates will have numerous opportunities to put their questions to the industry experts. Attendees will also be invited to pose questions in advance of the sessions, and answers will be given either during the conference or afterwards by email.
Event sponsors are Manheim, Britain’s number one car and van auction centre; Motortrade-Mail.com, the online vehicle trading service; GE Money, provider of consumer finance services to consumers, retailers and auto dealers; and Auto Trader, the flagship publication of Trader Media Group.
Lucy Brazier, Event Manager at EurotaxGlass’s, believes the event will be the first of its kind. “Dealers have never before had the opportunity to hear from such a wide range of respected companies involved in shaping the way car retailers do business online,” she says. “When we asked Glass’s Guide subscribers earlier this year which topics they would like to hear about at an automotive industry conference, the Internet was by far the most popular subject, with over 40 per cent of respondents listing it as their preferred topic.”
