Motorpoint enjoying strong demand for new registration

The retailer currently has five locations across the UK in Burnley, Derby, Glasgow, Newport (South Wales), and more recently in Peterborough, providing a large range of competitively priced cars and commercial vehicles, ranging from stylish cabriolets to family people carriers. This weekend, customers will collect nearly £7 million worth of vehicles from the Motorpoint sites, and the Vauxhall Astra, Volkswagen Golf, and Renault Scenic models are proving to be the most popular buys, as the new plates are introduced. With buoyant demand so far this year, annual sales for 2007 are estimated to amount to a total of 47,000 units.
Furthermore, as stock markets emerge from a turbulent period, fuelled by concerns over borrowing, and the difficulty of repaying credit, Motorpoint is bucking the trend once again, with 80% of customers purchasing their car on finance, using their very popular Financial Services Authority-regulated Boomerang facility. Under the scheme, the retailer pays £300 towards the deposit of a new or used car, and provides a guaranteed value at the end of the three-year repayment plan.
Commenting on the imminent arrival of the second of the two vehicle registration introductions this year, David Shelton, Managing Director of Motorpoint explains: “The change to the ‘07’ registration pointed to an upward trend in sales, which is being replicated with the new plate. The momentum is set to continue during the last quarter, thanks to our dedication to providing a high level of customer service, and a wide choice of great value vehicles.”
