Top manufacturers chase Limousine & Chauffeur Show award
Top manufacturers are battling it out to take the title of the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show’s Best Executive Vehicle. Models from Jaguar, Audi, BMW, Chrysler and Mercedes have been short listed for the award which will be presented at an exclusive gala dinner, sponsored by the British International Motor Show, on Monday 17th September. The gala dinner is part of the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show, which is held at Birmingham’s NEC from Sunday 16th to Tuesday 18th September 2007.BMW and Audi each have two models in the final selection – the BMW 7 series diesel and BMW 5 series diesel and the Audi A6 and A8. The other nominees are the Jaguar XJ LWB diesel, the Mercedes S Class diesel and the Chrysler 300 diesel.
These vehicles have been selected by the limousine and chauffeur industry and the overall winner will be selected by a panel of esteemed judges. The judges include British International Motor Show Commercial Director Giles Brown, National Limousine and Chauffeur Association President Tony Chandsoor and Exchange & Mart Finance Director Doug Kettlewell. They will be joined by Karen Ferry, Sales Director of Limousine & Chauffeur magazine, Leslie Cabrera, President of the British Chauffeurs Guild, and limo industry legend, Limo Bob.
The Ultimate Chauffeur Vehicle is also a hotly contested title as the award recognises the most luxurious and prestigious cars used by chauffeurs. The models nominated are the Bentley Arnage and Flying Spur, the Mercedes LWB S class 63 AMG, the Rolls Royce Phantom and the Maybach 62.
Other awards being presented are Best Limousine Operator, Best Executive Car and Chauffeur Company, Best Industry Resource, Best Website, Best Limousine Builder, Best Chauffeur and the Best Limousine at the Show. Around 250 guests are expected to attend the awards ceremony and gala dinner at the Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield. The evening will also feature a charity auction that will raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation, which is the show’s official charity.
Spanning 4,500 square metres, the Limousine and Chauffeur Show showcases the latest limousines and executive cars on the market, ranging from the luxurious to the outrageous. There are also informative seminars covering topics such as vehicle standards and registration, chauffeur etiquette and business development. There are also around 50 trade stands selling a wide range of limousine accessories such as state of the art televisions, stereos and cinema systems as well as parts, spares, tools, motoring services and vehicles for sale.
