5th September 2009 Print
From Monday 7 September, Abbey and Bradford & Bingley Savings are launching a new two-year fixed rate ISA paying a market leading 3.50 per cent tax-free AER. This new account is designed to appeal to savers looking for a competitive fixed return on their tax-free savings and is available to open in any one of our branches at Abbey and Bradford & Bingley and run via the post. The minimum deposit is just £1 with transfers in from existing cash ISAs permitted.

Increase to ISA limits for over 50's

From 6 October cash ISA limits will increase for the over 50's only from £3,600 to £5,100. For any customers looking to open the Fixed Rate Postal ISA, aged 50 or over, we're pleased to announce that from 6 October 2009 until 17 November we will be reopening the account to allow those savers to take full advantage of the increase.

Reza Attar-Zadeh, Director of Savings and Investments, said: "Our new two-year fixed rate ISA is ideal for savers who are looking to secure a competitive fixed rate for their tax-free savings in today's low base rate environment. The account allows transfers in and we expect it to be extremely popular with savers looking for a competitive new home for their existing cash ISA subscriptions. Better still any saver aged 50 or over will be able to take full advantage of the increased ISA limits from 6 October as we will re-open the account so they don't miss out.

Customers can apply for the fixed rate ISA by visiting any local branch of Abbey or Bradford & Bingley, with all further transactions done via the post.
