EurotaxGlass’s to launch network of used car valuation websites

22nd September 2007 Print
EurotaxGlass’s, publisher of Glass’s Guide and the market-leading provider of automotive intelligence, has significantly enhanced its online used car valuation service for consumers and is adding new vehicle data services as part of a pan-European initiative.

In addition to used car valuations, the all-new site at glass.co.uk now features ‘Car Comparator’, enabling users to configure and compare models from different manufacturers. Before the end of 2007 the ‘Residual Value Forecast’ feature will be added, which predicts a vehicle’s future value, and next year consumers will be able to use a ‘Damage Estimator’ option on the site to calculate the cost of minor vehicle repairs.

The all-new, feature-rich website has an attractive new look-and-feel, and those familiar with the current Glass’s site will find the valuation process much simpler and more intuitive. Generating a valuation takes just three simple steps. Consumers are guided through the process with on-screen prompts – asking for mileage and details of optional equipment, for example – and images of the selected vehicle are displayed throughout.

The new site has been designed to facilitate access to valuation data via mobile devices, including mobile phones and handheld computers. A range of further features will soon be incorporated, including a user’s forum and a blog featuring the thoughts and opinions of the Glass’s Guide valuation team.

The new services will be available first in EurotaxGlass’s five key markets (the UK, Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland), with the remaining countries in the
30-strong EurotaxGlass’s Group matching these services to local consumer requirements over the coming months.

Across all markets the EurotaxGlass's websites will provide accurate valuations based on a common calculation methodology, tailored specifically to the needs of consumers.

“This is one of the biggest internet development projects targeting new and used car buyers throughout Europe,” comments Alastair MacLeod, Chief Operating Officer at EurotaxGlass’s. “These new websites will provide the easiest possible route to establishing an accurate valuation for a used vehicle, and offer a range of useful interactive features that will keep bringing consumers back.”

The cost of downloading a detailed valuation report from glass.co.uk will remain the same, at £3.50.
