Momo's Macleod crowned Champion!

25th September 2007 Print
With eleven race victories in the bag this season, Callum Macleod could scent Formula Ford Championship victory as he approached the penultimate race meeting of the year, at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 22/23 September.

In contrast to the autumnal feel at the Kent circuit, the 19-year old from Northampton, backed for the first time this year by Italian racewear and tuning product maestro, MOMO, was full of the joys of spring as he netted a runners-up podium slot in the first race, missing victory by less than one hundredth of a second.

But that was nothing compared to his elation after an emphatic victory in the second race, after leading every lap and lowering his own circuit record in the process, to give him and his Jamun Racing team the British Formula Ford Championship title.

Despite three rounds of the Championship still to be contested, Macleod's Brands Hatch barnstorming was enough to put him in an unassailable lead in the series, which has so frequently proved to be the breeding ground for motor racing's elite.

Macleod's copybook performance at Brands Hatch enables him the luxury of going to the final Championship rounds, at Rockingham Motor Speedway next weekend, 29/30 September, knowing it's very much a case of 'JOB DONE'!
