Charcolonline re-launches as Charcol

15th May 2007 Print
Charcolonline.co.uk has re-launched as charcol.co.uk, with many new additions to the site making it an even more valuable resource for both consumers and the media.

Already recognised by many as the market-leading mortgage website, Charcol has made some key additions to the existing functionality, tools and wizards that it has become renowned for, in the form of consumer guides, a glossary and up to the minute housing and mortgage news. Excitingly, the new site also sees the launch of Boulger’s blog, an independent voice for the industry recognised mortgage guru.

Boulger’s Blog

Ray Boulger has been consistently identified as the leading voice in the mortgage arena and now consumers can get direct access to Ray’s knowledge and insight by reading or signing up for Boulger’s blog. Consumers can also now interact with Ray via postings on the site.

Commenting specifically on his launch into cyber space, Ray said: “I am delighted to have my own blog and look forward to guiding people through the sometimes confusing world of mortgages. There will be hints and tips on all manner of housing related issues and perhaps even the odd rant!”

New knowledge and resource centre – a one stop shop for consumers

Expert guides: a brand new addition to charcol.co.uk. These guides provide consumers with valuable information to take them through every stage of the process from house buying, mortgage types and application, remortgaging, buy to let and help for those people with credit problems.

Glossary: Another new addition is an A-Z of mortgages tackling industry jargon.

Calculators: charcol.co.uk hosts a fully comprehensive (and already hugely popular) range of mortgage calculators, designed to help consumers work out how much they can borrow and to consider different monthly mortgage payments. They can also find out how much could be saved by remortgaging or using flexible mortgage facilities, or whether they might be better suited to particular mortgage types.

Get a quote and apply: Charcol was the first online mortgage company to offer a complete online application service for free. The redesign has made it clearer and simpler for consumers to identify what kind of borrower they are from the start, taking them straight to the right help section.

Drew Wotherspoon, marketing director at Charcol, comments: “The new Charcol site has taken all the award winning functionality available on the previous site and added some real personality and usefulness to the whole experience of arranging a mortgage online. The introduction of Boulger’s blog sees the undisputed market guru provide daily insight and comment on the worlds of mortgages and housing. Both these key additions will be hugely beneficial to any consumer searching for a mortgage.”

Mortgage Advice

Charcol.co.uk also fully incorporates a telephone advice service that is available to consumers for a flat fee of just £199. For this fee, advisers will talk through your personal circumstances, advise on the most suitable mortgage for you and manage the whole mortgage application through to completion, making the process as painless as possible.

News

The site also provides an independent source of news, with stories on all aspects of the housing market being updated daily. If anything happens that affects the housing and mortgage markets it will be covered in the Charcol Home and Money News section. Consumers and media alike can register to receive these up to the minute news feeds, direct to their own computer.

Wotherspoon concludes, “The new site is fresh and dynamic and we feel is the ideal place for mortgage borrowers to get all the facts they need. Not only this, but the site will focus on the broader housing issues that are so crucial to the mortgage buying process these days. And, we will not be resting on our laurels. There will be new additions arriving in the coming months that will further enhance the online experience with Charcol.”
