Abbey cuts rates on no upfront costs mortgages

21st May 2007 Print
Abbey Mortgages is reducing rates on its no upfront costs mortgage range until June 23.

The range - which launched on 23 April - covers all upfront costs for home movers, including valuation, booking and even legal fees. The legal fees alone for a typical household are worth over £1,400, and in total the deal saves the average customer over £2,000 in upfront costs.

Nici Audhlam Gardiner, Abbey Head of Mortgages, said: “In a rising interest rate environment where many providers are pulling their cheapest deals, today’s rate cuts on this range make it extremely competitive. With no booking fee, no valuation fee and no legal fees, these products offer exceptional value to any mover and cannot be matched. We are in a position to offer these deals to customers for a limited time only. We would urge customers to take advantage of these deals before our offer period ends.”

Customers who opt for one of Abbey’s no upfront costs mortgage products will benefit from:

No legal fees - covers solicitors fee and other charges including land registry fees on up to £500,000 of your property price

No valuation fees on properties valued up to £2.5million
No booking / application fees
50 per cent cash back on contents insurance after one year
3 months free payment care
15 per cent discount with Britannia Removals company

In addition to these special deal no upfront costs products, Abbey’s core range is highly competitive with the best 2 year fixed remortgage deal on the high street at 5.54% and £499, and a 2 year fixed rate at 5.49% which beats the base rate.
