To celebrate Santander’s entry into Formula One sponsorship, which as well as the Santander British Grand Prix also includes sponsorship of Team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and its championship leading drivers - Spanish double reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso and British sensation Lewis Hamilton - Abbey Mortgages is offering one person the chance to walk away with £100,000.

The winner’s name will be drawn and announced by Lewis Hamilton at the Santander British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday 8 July. In addition, Abbey is giving away a hundred pairs of Grandstand tickets to the Santander British Grand Prix in a free prize draw.

Not content with making his presence felt at the front end of the Formula One grid, Lewis Hamilton is also making a dramatic impact across Abbey’s 714 UK branches - all of which now boast life-sized displays of the racing prodigy as part of an Abbey Mortgage consumer promotion.

Nici Audhlam Gardiner, Head of Mortgages at Abbey, said: “Winning this prize could quite simply change your life, and the best thing is that it is not restricted to Abbey customers, anyone can enter by filling out a form available from any Abbey branch.”

So what could £100,000 actually buy you?

Lifetime football team support - The most dedicated football fans spend nearly £100,000 following their team during a lifetime according to the Football Supporters' Federation.

299 Jimmy Choo Shoes - Everyone like to dress up in the latest designer fashion, the prize fund in this case would get you as many as 299 pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes!

A helicopter to beat the commuter traffic - Invest in buying a Hughes 300c helicopter to beat the morning traffic queues, and still have enough money to get flying lessons and fill up its tank.

Round the world trips - £100,000 would get you five round-the-world trips with BA or one week in the Royal Suite of a seven star hotel (Burj al-Arab) - failing that you could just go around the London Eye 7,692 times!

Private schooling for your child - Send your child to private school, the money would buy your child ten years at a top British school.

Give it all to charity - for £100,000 Oxfam could feed 1,250 children in Malawi for a year or install water pipes for 7,000 villages.

Two thirds of your mortgage - British Bankers' Association showed the average home loan is now a record-breaking £152,800, the winnings would go along way to paying your mortgage off.

To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is fill out an entry form that can be found in any Abbey branch and hand the form over to a member of staff or place it in one of the special in-branch post boxes. The competition is a free prize draw and open to all who wish to take part.
