Yorkshire Building Society has been awarded ‘Best Provider of Fixed Rate Mortgages over 5 Years’ in the prestigious 2007 Moneyfacts Awards.

The Society also received six further accolades for its mortgage range and credit card:

Highly Commended:

Best 100% Mortgage Provider
Best Variable Rate Mortgage Provider

Commended:
Best Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider over 2 years
Best Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider over 3 years
Best Credit Card Provider

Moneyfacts monitors all financial products on an entirely independent basis throughout the year and determines their Awards based on the information it holds. This ensures the Moneyfacts Awards recognise only financial institutions that consistently provide the best products.

Andrew Hagger of Moneyfacts said “Being completely independent our Awards are seen as a real benchmark for product excellence. Where consumers see a Moneyfacts Award logo they can be sure the provider has won a truly impartial award.”

Upon receiving the awards, Ian Bullock, Yorkshire Sales and Marketing Director, said: "It is fantastic that Moneyfacts, probably the most credible awards in the industry, have recognised Yorkshire as a finalist in six of its award categories.

At Yorkshire we operate our business in a way that distinguishes us from our plc competitors. We spend a lot of time researching and developing all our products to ensure they provide great value and our aim is to consistently offer our members long-term value mortgages, savings and financial products. We do this through a range of innovative and fair priced products which are available through whichever channel our customers choose, whether that is in a branch, by post or online.

In addition to the six awards detailed above Yorkshire Guernsey, a subsidiary of Yorkshire Building Society, was Highly Commended for its Offshore Notice Account and Commended for its Offshore Monthly Interest Account.
