Manchester United fan strikes lucky with mortgage account

One lucky Britannia Building Society customer won a trip to Tokyo to support Manchester United during their 2007 Tour of Asia.

Colin Thompson, 29 from Lymm, Cheshire , won this fantastic opportunity to support his team in Asia by requesting a mortgage quotation. As a Manchester United fan he was interested in the opportunity to support his club whilst getting the best deal for his mortgage.

Commenting on his win Colin, who is a Manchester United season ticket holder, said 'When I got the call to tell me I had won I had forgotten all about the draw and thought it was one of my friends winding me up. It was an amazing surprise once it sunk in that it was real and I could not believe my luck that by getting a mortgage from Britannia I had also won the trip of a lifetime. I have supported the team for over 25 years and have been to see them play in Europe but this was the furthest I have travelled to see a match, it was a fantastic experience.'

Colin travelled to Tokyo to see Manchester United First Team draw 2:2 against Urawa Red Diamonds at the Saitama Stadium which was built for the 2002 World Cup.
