Postal strikes don’t stop work for GMAC-RFC
Following the Royal Mail’s Communication Workers Union announcement to strike on Thursday 4th October till Tuesday 9th October, GMAC-RFC has reassured brokers and intermediaries, that due to its award winning technology, business will not be affected.Even though the strike will last a total of four working days, Julie Gaskin, Corporate Relations Manager, points out that service will remain as efficient as ever because of GMAC-RFC’s online systems: “Our customers can be rest assured that work will carry on as normal at GMAC-RFC’s offices. Systems in place mean that the forthcoming strikes will pose no threat to cases being turned around during this period. Our advanced POSO technology means brokers and packagers will not experience delays in service to obtain a mortgage offer. They also have the option of submitting the application on-line so their reputation remains intact and there will be no additional stress”.
Gaskin continues: “Other lenders who do not have the technology in place are likely to be severely affected by this strike. Four days is a long time when you’re waiting for a mortgage offer to come through and having to wait so long for an answer will not improve relationships between brokers and their clients”.
Gaskin concludes: “Even for the few cases that we require any supporting documents, we allow our brokers and partners to either email, scan or fax the information over to us. We plan to carry on regardless of the strike and will continue to provide high standards of service to all our customers”.
