Clarion creates a multimedia masterpiece

Clarion creates a multimedia masterpiece Clarion's MAX973HD forges the latest in high-end audio visual reproduction techniques with state-of-the-art in-built navigation technology, to create a multi-media masterpiece that guides and transports ICE enthusiasts beyond the realms of everyday in-car infotainment.

The MAX973HD is DVD±R/DVD±RW ready, deploying a 7-inch QVGA TFT colour LCD monitor for the reproduction of the highest quality video images, whilst 2-zone technology means the double-DIN dazzler can deliver a combination of dual sources; audio or navigation in the front for example, with DVD in the back, via an add-on head rest or overhead monitor/s for example.

As well as being CD-R/CD-RW ready and MP3 and WMA compatible with ID3-TAG display, Clarion's own Music Catcher technology also enables listeners to download their music at up to 8 times real-time speed, before storing some 4000 songs - correctly identified thanks to Gracenote music recognition - direct on to the 30GB built-in hard disk.

Clarion has also reacted to the continued development of Apple's iconic iPod, with automatic recognition of iPod Audio/Video upon connection, to allow instant and direct access and playback of video, music and photos via the widescreen monitor, whilst Bluetooth connectivity allows for streaming from devices such as mobile phones, as well as complete control of your phones' functions via the MAX973HD's touch-screen.

A 24-bit D/A Converter is the focus of the newcomer's faithful sound reproduction, together with a 3-band parametric equalizer and Magna-Bass EX dynamic bass enhancement, whilst 4-channel x 53 watts of MOS-FET amplification helps generate a more dynamic, well-balanced audio reproduction to ensure the MAX973HD's technology is put to good use.

The very latest HDD (Hard Disk Drive) navigation - built in to the MAX973HD - features super quick route calculation, map data from 30 European countries, Voice recognition and Text to speech in 6 languages, and Voice guidance and Screen text in 9 languages, whilst a powerful 400Mhz CPU delivers the most precise Route information and Route guidance in an instant.

Destination searching by postcode, house number and even POI (Place Of Interest) name, category and nearby search is now possible, whilst invaluable up-to-date traffic information is available thanks to an in-built RDS TMC tuner.

To ensure the MAX973HD looks as impressive as it feels, Clarion's ongoing partnership with the world famous Guigiaro Design house is featured through a number of changeable 'Skins', allowing icons and background patterns to be customised to suit the image of your car, whilst more can be downloaded from clarion.com.

The MAX973HD is available via Clarion appointed dealers across the UK, with a typical selling price of £1,499.00 - or £1349.00 for members purchasing through Club Clarion - and for more information on your nearest stockist, as well as full details on the multimedia masterpiece, visit clarion.co.uk, or clubclarion.co.uk.
