Motorpoint – the UK’s number one car supermarket group – has jumped 27 places to 83rd position in the annual Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table of top performing mid-market private companies, after achieving an impressive annual sales total of more than £249 million, an increase of almost 15% on last year.

The HSBC-sponsored Top Track 250 League Table ranks Britain's 250 biggest mid-market private companies by their latest sales, which range between £100m and £350m. In addition to retailers from the automotive industry, corporations span across numerous sectors which include Pharmaceuticals, IT and Property.

Buoyant sales have been enjoyed by Motorpoint’s five sites across the UK in Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, Newport (South Wales), and Peterborough, helping the retailer to out- perform competitors in the automotive retail sector. Motorpoint prides itself on being able to offer very competitive prices on a sizeable range of new and used cars across most makes and models, and the retailer is set to achieve impressive sales of around 47,000 units for 2007.

Delighted at this year’s ranking in the Top Track 250 League Table, David Shelton, Managing Director of Motorpoint explains: “It is a true reflection of our continued drive to provide buyers with a large range of cars and commercial vehicles at very competitive prices. The past year has witnessed record sales and the opening of a fifth outlet in the UK, and as we continue to expand, we remain fully committed to providing our customers with unbeatable value.”
