Safety comes first for local taxi firm

Silver Cars is opting to replace its fleet of saloon cars with the ground-breaking TX4 vehicle in response to increased fears over driver safety.
The TX4 has an attack resistant screen and separate lockable driver and passenger compartments, providing drivers with complete reassurance when picking up fares.
Carl Larsen, owner of Silver Cars said: “Having looked at a number of vehicles at the National Taxi Show in Coventry, the TX4 completely bowled us over in terms of performance and its exceptional range of internal features. More importantly, the vehicle offers additional protection which will enable our drivers to pick up late night revellers without the fear of being attacked.”
The latest incarnation of the iconic vehicle was launched by LTI Vehicles last October and has broken all sales records since. It retains the classic, instantly recognisable looks of the previous taxi models, but has a new greener engine, anti-lock brakes as standard and enhanced suspension for a smoother ride. The purpose-built TX4 was purchased from Mann & Overton Manchester, the area’s official dealership.
Stephen Morgan, sales manager for M&O Manchester said: “We’re delighted that Silver Cars have chosen to introduce the new TX4 into their fleet. The fact that it is the safest and most efficient model ever produced has to be good news for Wilmslow.”
