BEN receives loan cars for its welfare work
A long term agreement has been made with two major companies from the rental and leasing sector, ALD Automotive and National Car Rental. These organisations have agreed to supply loan cars to BEN, the Automotive Industry Charity. Chief Executive, Gerard Barclay at BEN, commented, “We are so grateful for the support given to us by ALD and National Car Rental, who already support our charity in a number of different ways. The cars supplied will be driven by BEN’s Welfare Officers whose work is vital in developing the support we give to those less fortunate in the industry.”With more than 46,000 vehicles on its fleet, ALD Automotive is one of the UK’s leading providers of a range of vehicle financing options and fleet solutions including contract hire, contract purchase, pan-European leasing and employee car ownership schemes. Keith Allen, Managing Director, of ALD in the UK, which has supported BEN for a number of years, said, “Each of BEN’s Welfare Officers can travel up to 30,000 miles a year and as they work alone, often covering large distances, it is particularly important that they have good quality, reliable vehicles. We are delighted to be supplying a further three vehicles, all Honda Civics, to help enable the charity to continue to undertake its valuable work across the country.”
National Car Rental is the UK’s leading vehicle rental organisation servicing both business and leisure travellers. It operates the industry’s largest fleet of over 40,000 cars. National’s Managing Director, John Leigh, advised “We are delighted to be able to loan a fleet of Vauxhall Astra’s to BEN for long term use by BEN’s Welfare Officers. BEN is close to the hearts of so many of us working within the automotive sector. It is our responsibility to offer as much support as we can to ensure this charity’s excellent work can continue to reach the people that need it the most.”
Gerard Barclay concluded, “This arrangement is invaluable to BEN as without this type of support BEN could not sustain the level of welfare work it does. This is an excellent example of how companies can give corporate support to BEN and anyone wishing to discuss this further should make contact.
