Taxi drivers make dreams come true

More than 100 cab drivers gave up their time, free of charge, to take the children and their carers on a three day Magical Taxi Tour to Disneyland Resort in Paris. The annual trip, which is now in its fourteenth year, is organised by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers.
Coventry-based LTI Vehicles, manufacturer of the famous London taxi which was used to transport the children, also sponsored all of the fuel costs for the trip, with a donation of £5,000.
Matthew Cheyne, Sales and Marketing Director comments: “Once again, we are delighted to be giving this donation. The invaluable work of those involved has brought a great deal of joy to many children. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the people who helped organise this superb event.”
Phil Davis Chairman of the Organising Committee, states: “The event gives drivers a chance to give some special children a fantastic weekend away from their therapies and treatments. It’s really rewarding to see the look on the children’s faces as they arrive to meet Mickey Mouse and all of his animated friends.”
