Live Rallycross competition to ‘Excel’ at London Motorsport Show

7th November 2007 Print
A new motorsport competition for Rallycross cars is to be held right in the heart of the Docklands. The 2007 London Masters, organised by The London Motorsport Show in conjunction with Rallycross organisers PSM Motorsport Ltd, will be a special arena based event held as part of the London Motorsport Show on 8th and 9th December at ExCeL, situated on the Royal Victoria Dock.

Over 100 Rallycross competitors will battle it out over the two days on an arena based circuit designed to test their driving skills to limit on a purpose built course that has been created specifically for the competition. Reaching speeds of 80mph and lap times of around 35 seconds, visitors will be on the edge of their seats watching the live action.

The London Masters is sponsored by Shannon Holdings and London Mazda. Kevin Twinn, Brand Manager for London Mazda, said: "London Mazda is pleased to be supporting the London Masters. As Britain's favourite sports car brand with a 20 per cent market share, we'll be exhibiting Mazda's latest line-up including the MX-5 and RX-8 sports cars. We're also very excited about the introduction of the Rallycross event in the very heart of London's Dockland and our involvement on the track."

Owned by Ford Retail, London Mazda operates three Mazda dealerships around the capital - one in Docklands and two in north London. Annual new car sales exceed 1,000 vehicles and over 650 used Mazda cars are sold annually. London Mazda is proud of the loyal customer base that has been built up over the years through delivering the best possible customer service.

Visitors won’t be sitting on the sidelines though as there will be a ‘hot rides’ area where visitors get their adrenalin fix by getting into vehicles such as caterhams and legends with a skilled driver who will race them around the track so they can see how fast these cars can really go! There is also an indoor kart track spanning 350 metres where visitors can compare their times with racing leaders.

The London Motorsport Show covers all disciplines of motorsport from Karting through to Formula One and is a must for any motor racing enthusiast. Doors open each day from 10am and the show closes at 6.30pm on Saturday with the rallycross event finishing at around 8pm and 3pm on Sunday. Ticket prices range from £8 to gain admission into the exhibition only and from £13 for the exhibition and rallycross competition for adults when booked in advance. Family tickets range from £22.
