NCC welcomes code of practice for car servicing and repair industry
In response to the Retail Motor Strategy Group’s (RMSG) decision that industry leaders have agreed the text of a code of practice for the car servicing and repair sector, Steve Brooker, National Consumer Council policy expert said:‘We are delighted that the car servicing and repair industry has signed up to this code of practice. Momentum has built up as a result of our threatened super-complaint and millions of motorists will benefit from improved standards and better customer care in garage workshops following our campaign.
‘We urge garages to sign up at once so that consumers can easily choose the ones that guarantee good standards.
‘We’re not launching our super-complaint now, but garages aren’t off the hook. We expect speedy delivery of the new scheme right across the industry and remain ready to step in if need be.’
