The Hackett Beaujolais Run 2007
The Hackett Beaujolais Run 2-007 will start from the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, the spiritual successor to Brooklands, and home of the legendary Goodwood Revival. Each of the 50+ vehicles participating in this year’s Run will meet at the Goodwood circuit early on Tuesday 13 November, before taking the very short drive into the grounds of Goodwood House, scene of the world’s most popular celebration of car culture; the Festival of Speed, held every summer in the beautiful parkland of the Goodwood Estate, with the 2008 event set for the weekend of 11-13 July.
Once entering Goodwood Park, the 59 competitor vehicles will be flagged off at the iconic Festival of Speed starting point from around 8.00 am on Tuesday 13 November. Each Hackett Beaujolais Run participant will drive up the 1.16 mile Festival of Speed hillclimb at a sensible pace, before exiting at the top of the hill near the Goodwood Race Course and heading off to France. Each of the 59 participating teams will be competing to ‘Bring Back the Beaujolais’ after its launch in Beaujeu at midnight on Wednesday 14 November 2007.
The previous day – Monday 12 November – all Hackett Beaujolais Run 2-007 participants will sign-on in the historic SuperShell building at the Goodwood Motor Circuit early afternoon. On hand to greet them will be a stunning new Aston Martin DBS, which will be making its world road-going competition debut. Media on hand will have their first opportunity to experience the new 6.0 litre V12 DBS on the engaging West Sussex roads around the Goodwood Estate in the picturesque South Downs.
Commenting on the event, Lord March says, “At Goodwood, we pride ourselves on giving our guests an enjoyable experience, whilst supporting good causes through our charitable work. I am always happy to hear of other events that strive to do the same, which is why I am very pleased to assist the Beaujolais Run 2-007, especially as Winston’s Wish is a charity very close to my family’s hearts.”
