Polar Promise
Boffins at Comma’s research facility in Kent are confident their latest offering can handle sub-zero temperatures which would make even a polar bear shiver. While winter temperatures drop as low as minus 30 degrees centigrade at the North Pole, Comma Xstream Screenwash can handle temperatures twice as cold – protecting vehicles in temperatures up to minus 65 degrees centigrade.
Specially formulated screenwash solutions are essential for keeping your vehicle on the road this winter, yet many motorists are still filling their reservoirs with tap water.
Unlike Comma’s Xstream screenwash, which will stay fluid in even the harshest conditions, water can freeze as it makes contact with the windscreen, inhibiting the driver’s view. In particularly bleak weather, water can freeze before it leaves the reservoir, rendering the driver unable to clear their screen properly.
Chemical screenwashes, such as Comma Xstream not only help to melt the ice, but also reduces the chance of re-freezing.
X-Stream was recently voted the winner in the screen wash category in the 2005 Auto Express product awards; an accolade it’s familiar with, with previous wins in 2001, 2003 and 2004 and commended in 2002.
