New Mondeo marches on as Ford attracts the buyers Ford scored a strong result at BCA Nottingham on 6 November selling nearly 200 vehicles including new Mondeo, new C-MAX, new Focus CC and new Fiesta Sport Van.

The sale was broadcast via BCA’s LiveOnline service, allowing remote bidders to compete over the internet with buyers in the auction hall. In total, 106 buyers attended the sale, with 40 bidding online.

Bidding was competitive throughout as 137 cars and 62 commercials were sold for a 91% conversion.

With mileages averaging around 5,500, the 07-registered New Mondeo models performed strongly, averaging 76.1% against current list price and achieving 110% of CAP Clean, figures that will undoubtedly interest fleet operators. Among the strongest sellers, a Ghia 1.8 TDCi 5 door model with DVD navigation, Bluetooth and sports pack sold for £16,600, equivalent to 78.2% of list price and 117% of CAP Clean.

The new Focus CC models achieved up to 107% of CAP Clean, while New C-MAX averaged nearly 112% of CAP Clean. Fiesta Sport Van averaged £7,500, again, well ahead of expectations.

Ford Direct Brand and Remarketing Manager, Paul Bolton commented “This was an exceptional sale at a time when market conditions have got noticeably tougher. The event was well-presented by BCA, with strong bidding both in the auction hall and from LiveOnline buyers over the internet. Prices were very strong – particularly for the new model Mondeo, C-MAX, Focus Coupe Convertible and Fiesta Sport Van and the overall performance exceeded our own high residual value expectations.”
