Tesco Clubcard drives a wheely good Deal for motorists

From today Tesco Clubcard customers can swap their Clubcard vouchers for a brand new or quality used car from the UK’s leading multi-marque car retailing group, Motorpoint.

The vouchers are worth four times their face value when used to pay in part or in full for a brand new or quality used car, meaning every £2.50 of Clubcard vouchers is worth £10 towards that new set of wheels!

In fact the most recent, and largest ever, Tesco Clubcard Voucher mailing to customers would have bought over 34,500 brand new Ford Focus cars from Motorpoint as the £102 million vouchers sent out are worth £408million in Deal vouchers.

Steve McArdle, Director of Tesco Freetime comments: “As customers can save up their vouchers over two years, a typical family regularly shopping at Tesco could save as much as £800 on the cost of a new or used car through this great deal”

McArdle continues: “Currently, over one million customers regularly use their Clubcard vouchers for one of the 300 plus Deals on offer, and the introduction of Motorpoint to our Deals scheme now gives our high points earners the chance to save a considerable amount on one of their biggest purchases.”

David Shelton, Managing Director at Motorpoint adds: “Motorpoint customers who bought cars during September saved an average of around £5000 per car on recommended retail prices. Now Clubcard holders could boost that figure still further by redeeming their vouchers when paying for their new cars. Tesco Clubcard holders earn points across the Tesco group: in store, online at Tesco.com, Tesco Direct, Tesco Telecoms or Tesco Personal Finance. Customers can also earn points with Clubcard partners such as Eon and pick up even more valuable points through bonus point coupons and special offers.

Motorpoint have three flexible options when choosing cars. Either online at motorpoint.co.uk, over the telephone, or at one of the five locations across the UK; Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, Newport (South Wales) and Peterborough.
